Thunderpussy
Thunderpussy
Not only will Thunderpussy make you question your life choices, they will teach you life lessons like, "A hard man is good to find," and "Booty is in the eye of the beholder." Comprised of Molly Sides (This Bitch Don't Fall off), Whitney Petty (Deerhunter, The Grizzled Mighty), Leah Julius (Cumulus, Sundries), and Lena Simon (La Luz, Kairos), this new Seattle sex bomb will blow up in your face like a handful of napalm. Get ready for rock n roll's new diamond in the muff.
Fauna Shade
Fauna Shade
Everett, WA’s Fauna Shade sound reminiscent of their hometown: Twins Peaks-creepy sunniness mixed with chaotic pulp mill grinding and haunted vocals from the woods nearby. But even after the trio established reverb-drenched full attention by bashing out their first coy noise thrall, it all tasted like cherry pie and a cup of coffee. Every saucy refried-amp lick sounded so tasty inside the shaking rhythms of a bass player and drummer trading off everything from Bat Cave to Boom Bap.
Wild Powwers
Wild Powwers
Dynamic trio WILD POWWERS are hot off a nationwide tour celebrating the release of their 2016 self-released album Hugs And Kisses And Other Things. Their short 2 years as a band has brought them around the country twice, playing festivals such as SXSW and Savannah Stopover Fest, opening for many well-renowned bands such as Kylesa, Dilly Dally, Helms Alee, The Fall Of Troy, and No Age. WILD POWWERS has developed a glam creep strut that many have come to love them for. In recent news, the band has just completed recording their new album, entitled SKIN, with Billy Anderson (Melvins, Neurosis, High On Fire, Jawbreaker) at Cloud City Studios in Portland. SKIN is due out later this year.
Aan
Aan
Bud Wilson started writing and recording songs under the Aan moniker a decade ago, as an avenue of expression for his darker thoughts and feelings about love and domesticity. The band’s live show consistently purveys a sense of catharsis through stuttering, unexpected rhythms and spooky chord progressions that conspire to form a cycle of queasy unease and soaring melodic relief. Musical passages can turn from droning proto-motorik to explosive aggro-dub without warning. Somewhere between avant garde jazz and heavyweight Northwest sludge, Aan finds musical kin in everything from Fugazi to Faust; Soundgarden to Stereolab.
Sleeping Lessons
Sleeping Lessons
Sleeping Lessons is the latest Seattle indie-rock band on the block made up of a variety of projects ranging from international b-boy sensation Don’t Talk To The Cops, Seattle surf staples The Echo Echo Echoes, and backing the indie-folk prodigy Sophia Duccini. While Terence Bonsey was championing basslines to breakdancing competitions around the world; Charlie Deane, Dan Moretti and Paul Kowalczyk were busy sharing bills with artists such as Car Seat Headrest, Washed Out, STRFKR and more. In less than a year since their debut on Seattle’s famed Big BLDG Bash Festival main stage, Sleeping Lessons have started to create some serious momentum for themselves across the world with their self-produced debut album Red Sprites.
